Starting any business offers challenges. When Melbourne-based Jayne Graves decided she wanted to offer a cardiology service to multiple locations in the Otway Ranges area of Victoria, she was facing more challenges than most.
Jayne is the Director of Otway Heart, a group of Sonographers, Cardiologists and Technologists who provide services including Echocardiography, Stress Echo, ECGs and 24 Hour Holter monitoring.
Jayne splits her time between clinics in Melbourne and the Otway Ranges with locations including Apollo Bay, Colac and Lorne – as well as a mobile service for certain patients.
The company operates out of existing regional medical practices, each with their own reception and IT processes. This presents some unique challenges when it comes to scheduling patient appointments, and providing reports back to referring doctors.
Dygiphy’s solution was to provide an integrated website, diary management, referrals and doctor reporting system that provides real-time access to information at any location.
The system is built around the WordPress Content Management System (CMS). There were no existing WordPress plugins that adequately met the needs of Otway Heart, so Dygiphy custom developed a set of plugins in PHP and MySQL that integrate into the Otway Heart website to create a seamless interface for all users.
By leveraging the WordPress content management features and proven security, we were able to do this without the usual high cost of custom application development that would normally make this sort of solution unaffordable for small businesses.
Dygiphy also designed the company’s logo, branding, and website.
